This case study details the process undertaken by NCS Support Services to recover mailbox data from a failed SBS2011 server using Stellar's EDB to PST Converter. NCS Support, based in Rossendale, Lancashire, has been providing IT solutions for over 20 years. The challenge arose when a client’s server experienced a failure, leaving the Exchange Database (EDB) file in a Dirty Shutdown state, rendering the mailbox data inaccessible. With limited time to restore the server, the in-house IT team sought an external solution. The Stellar Converter was selected for its efficiency in extracting mailbox items into PST format. The tool successfully converted all critical mailbox components, including emails and calendars, allowing the client to avoid revenue loss due to server downtime. The case study highlights the effectiveness of Stellar's tool in facilitating a quick recovery process, demonstrating its utility in urgent IT scenarios.
