This case study outlines the deployment of Private LTE and Cellular-On-Wheels (COW) solutions by STEP at the 31st Kentucky Bourbon Festival in Bardstown, KY. The festival transitioned from a non-ticketed event to a larger, ticketed experience with enhanced technology, including RFID-enabled wristbands for entry and transactions. STEP provided reliable connectivity for point-of-sale systems, media coverage, public WiFi, and security through the mobilization of COW over the festival's 2.5 acres. The implementation included two scanning terminals linked to an RF500 Router Endpoint and the deployment of three security cameras. The technology supported tens of thousands of wristbands and facilitated seamless transactions for over 30 Craft Distillers. Additionally, media teams were able to upload content effortlessly, and festival-goers benefited from fast public WiFi. This successful integration of technology ensured a smooth experience for attendees and vendors alike.
