Dustin Group Next-Gen IT Stack Implementation

This document is a case study detailing the implementation of a next-generation IT stack by Dustin Group, a managed services provider in Northern Europe. The objective of the project was to consolidate multiple IT platforms into a standardized cloud platform to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs. The case study outlines the challenges faced by Dustin, including the complexity and expense of managing various legacy systems. The solution involved replacing traditional software stacks, VMware and Hyper-V, with a cloud infrastructure powered by KVM, utilizing Software-defined Storage (SDS) and Software-defined Networking (SDN). The document describes the technology stack used, including HPE hardware and StorPool Storage for block storage needs. The outcome of the project resulted in a scalable, efficient cloud platform that improved service quality and reduced vendor lock-in, while also optimizing capital and operational expenditures. The case study concludes with insights into the benefits realized by Dustin Group post-implementation.
