This case study details Wehl Green's adoption of the Stratasys H350 printer and SAF ReLife PA12 solution to enhance sustainability and cost-efficiency in manufacturing. Wehl Green, a division of the Wehl Group, focuses on sustainable manufacturing and aims to reduce environmental impact through circular economies. The case study outlines the challenges faced by Wehl Green, particularly the high disposal costs and carbon footprint associated with waste PA12 powder from their SLS printer fleet. To address these issues, Wehl Green implemented the SAF ReLife PA12 solution, which repurposes waste powders from other powder bed fusion technologies. The advanced thermal camera and closed-loop system of the SAF process ensure precise thermal control, allowing for effective reuse of powders. The study also highlights measurable impacts, including a reduction in carbon footprint by up to 89% and a 20% improvement in production costs, demonstrating the potential of advanced additive manufacturing technologies in sustainable practices.
