This document is a study that examines the division of functions within in-vehicle architecture, focusing on the transition from conventional discrete Electronic Control Units (ECUs) to a next-generation architecture. The study outlines the implementation of a central ECU, which integrates control functions, and zone ECUs that manage sensors and loads. It addresses challenges such as the complexity of software structures that hinder the identification of issues arising from this division. AutoNetworks Technologies, Ltd. has developed models to enhance the efficiency of problem identification and solution development in this context. The study also discusses the visualization of software structures to clarify functional relationships, tradeoff analysis for evaluating different division patterns, and simulation verification of candidate architectures. The findings suggest that this approach can improve the efficiency of architecture investigations in future in-vehicle systems by elucidating the consequences of function division.
