This report presents findings from a global survey conducted by Sun Life in partnership with Ipsos, focusing on the perceptions of health and wealth among underserved communities across Canada, the US, Malaysia, and the Philippines. The objective of the survey is to assess attitudes and perceptions regarding financial health, physical health, and mental health among these groups. The report identifies underserved groups as those historically excluded from financial services, including low-income individuals, people with disabilities, and various ethnic and gender minorities. The survey reveals that while trust in financial and insurance providers is generally high, there are significant gaps in satisfaction and perceived support, particularly among LGBTQ+ individuals and those with disabilities. The report emphasizes the need for the industry to innovate and create products that better address the unique needs of these populations, particularly in light of challenges posed by extreme weather events and mental health concerns. Overall, the findings serve as a foundation for Sun Life's Bridges Initiative strategy.
