This case study details the implementation of Sunbird DCIM at Brussels University Hospital (H.U.B), which consists of three major academic hospitals in Brussels, Belgium. Prior to deploying Sunbird DCIM, H.U.B faced challenges in managing their data center infrastructure due to the absence of modern software solutions. The infrastructure team managed 60 racks across four data center rooms and struggled with planning a migration to a new facility. The deployment of Sunbird DCIM provided H.U.B with a comprehensive solution for asset, power, and environment management. The hospital created a virtual model of their new data center before construction, allowing for effective planning. The integration of dcTrack with Dell OpenManage Enterprise streamlined asset management and reduced manual data entry. As a result, H.U.B experienced a 75% reduction in physical visits to their data centers, improved decision-making capabilities, and enhanced monitoring of power and environmental conditions. This case study illustrates the significant operational improvements achieved through the use of Sunbird DCIM.
