This case study outlines the integration of BodyWorks Eve (BWE) simulation systems into the postgraduate Diagnostic Imaging (Medical Ultrasound) training program at the University of Leeds. The primary objective is to enhance ultrasound training for healthcare professionals, particularly in light of challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. The BWE systems provide high-fidelity simulations that replicate real patient examinations, allowing students to practice essential skills in a controlled environment. The program incorporates six BWE systems housed in a dedicated simulation suite, facilitating hands-on learning experiences that build student confidence and competence. The training sessions include introductory and clinical-specific components, focusing on abdominal cases and pathology. Students engage in practical exercises that cover normal and complex examinations, ensuring they develop the necessary skills for safe ultrasound practice. The case study emphasizes the importance of simulation in complementing clinical placements and improving educational outcomes for novice ultrasound practitioners.
