This case study details the Neilston Learning Campus project undertaken by Heron Bros for East Renfrewshire Council. The project integrates Neilston Primary School, Madras Family Centre, and St Thomas’ Primary School on a single site, allowing the primary school to remain operational during construction. The old buildings were demolished to create new recreational facilities. Heron Bros implemented SustainIQ to enhance data capture across four key areas: Responsible Procurement, Resource Efficiency, Valuing People, and Community & Partnering. The case study outlines how SustainIQ facilitated real-time monitoring and reporting of ESG performance, including waste management, carbon emissions, and community engagement. It also emphasizes the importance of tracking GHG emissions and waste diversion, achieving 98% waste diversion from landfill. The project highlights Heron Bros' commitment to sustainability and their efforts to provide apprenticeship opportunities and training, contributing to local community development and workforce skills enhancement.
