UH Cleveland Medical Center ClinCard Implementation Case Study

This case study details the implementation of the ClinCard platform at UH Cleveland Medical Center, aimed at enhancing participant experience and reducing administrative burdens in clinical trials. The center faced several challenges with its previous payment system, which was manual, inefficient, and not user-friendly, leading to delays in participant compensation and logistical issues for travel arrangements. Since adopting ClinCard in March 2023, the center has streamlined its processes, resulting in over 5,000 payments to more than 1,500 participants across 22 unique protocols. The ClinCard platform allows for immediate reimbursement at appointments, significantly improving participant satisfaction and retention. The integration with Lyft has further alleviated travel burdens by enabling coordinators to schedule rides directly, eliminating upfront costs for participants. The case study highlights the time and cost savings achieved through this implementation, as well as the positive feedback from participants regarding the flexibility and convenience of the ClinCard system.
