Jaycar Electronics Automated Warehouse Case Study

This case study details the implementation of an automated warehousing solution at Jaycar Electronics Group's new distribution center in Eastern Creek, Sydney. The facility, measuring 21,595 square meters, is designed to enhance storage and output efficiency, achieving a 30% increase in storage volume per square meter. Swisslog was selected for this project due to its capability to provide a tailored end-to-end solution that meets Jaycar's operational needs. The project faced challenges related to rising industrial land prices and the necessity for future expansion. The automated system includes a 20,000 pallet capacity multi-deep automated pallet store and a fully automated picking system, which has resulted in a 99.7% Delivered In Full On Time (DIFOT) rate. The SynQ software used for warehouse management allows for real-time monitoring and optimization of warehouse operations.
