This case study presents the implementation of the Integrated Electronic Case Management System (IECMS) for the Judiciary of Zimbabwe, detailing the challenges faced during its design and development, particularly due to remote interactions necessitated by the pandemic. The project aimed to automate and integrate various courts under a single IT system to improve access to justice. The study outlines the phased implementation of the IECMS, which began with virtual courts and progressed to full system deployment across multiple court divisions. It emphasizes the importance of change management strategies informed by regional best practices, particularly from Rwanda and Uganda, to facilitate user adoption. The Judiciary of Zimbabwe proactively engaged in training and public awareness campaigns to support the transition to the new system. The case study concludes by documenting the technical support mechanisms established to assist users and the overall positive reception of the IECMS, which has enhanced the efficiency and accessibility of judicial processes.
