T-Systems Solution for Healthcare Development Overview

This technical report outlines T-Systems' initiative to modernize the SAP IS-H hospital management system for the Swiss healthcare sector. Following SAP's announcement of discontinuing IS-H development, T-Systems is taking over its further development, transforming it into the T-Systems Solution for Healthcare (TSHC). The report details the challenges faced by the University Children’s Hospital Basel (UKBB), which relies heavily on IS-H for managing hospital workflows. UKBB is seeking to maintain continuity in its processes while addressing financial pressures and a growing skills shortage. The report explains how T-Systems plans to provide an end-to-end migration and modernization package, including data conversion to SAP HANA and custom code transformation. The implementation aims to preserve existing functionalities while optimizing system integration. The first release of TSHC is expected in late 2025, allowing UKBB to safeguard its investments in IS-H and prepare for future advancements in healthcare technology.
