This case study details the modernization of governed access for a large U.S. healthcare provider, focusing on sensitive clinical and operational data. The primary objective was to enhance analytics performance while ensuring compliance with strict access controls. The existing fragmented access policies and inconsistent data ingestion practices posed significant challenges, leading to slow reporting cycles and increased compliance risks. TechWish addressed these issues by implementing a standardized governance framework using Databricks, which included role-based access control and fine-grained security policies. Additionally, the project optimized SQL performance patterns and established a metadata-driven ingestion framework to streamline data onboarding. The results included reduced query latency, faster onboarding of new data sources, and improved compliance readiness through centralized governance controls. This initiative not only strengthened security but also enhanced analytics agility, allowing for more responsive reporting across departments.
