Centralized Labeling Solution for DSM Resins

This case study outlines the implementation of a centralized labeling solution at DSM Coating Resins and DSM Composite Resins, which are part of DSM, a company producing life science products and industrial chemicals. The objective was to streamline the labeling process across 13 manufacturing plants located in Europe and the US, addressing challenges related to regulatory compliance and local label management. The solution involved the integration of SENTINEL print automation software with the SAP Enterprise Resource Planning system. This allowed for the automatic generation of labels based on specific material safety data, ensuring that all labels were printed in the appropriate languages and met local regulations. The process was centralized to eliminate inefficiencies and reduce the risk of penalties from local authorities. The implementation resulted in a significant reduction in time spent on labeling tasks and improved control over label design and content, enhancing overall operational efficiency.
