TeKnowledge's Role in Costa Rica's Workforce Training Program

This case study outlines TeKnowledge's involvement in Costa Rica's Emplèate program, a workforce training initiative aimed at addressing the economic challenges posed by COVID-19. The program, developed in collaboration with the Costa Rican Government's Ministry of Labour, AWS, and Microsoft, focuses on equipping individuals with essential digital skills for the technology-driven economy. The curriculum spans four months and includes immersive bootcamps in Software Development, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, and Technical Support, along with training in soft skills and English proficiency. The outcomes of the program are significant, with a 90% participant completion rate and a 69% employment rate among graduates. Furthermore, 82% of those employed found relevant positions within 2.5 months, reflecting the demand for the skills acquired. This initiative not only supports individual career advancement but also contributes to economic growth in Costa Rica and beyond.
