This technical report presents a case study on the application of Ocean Bottom Node (OBN) data in Full Waveform Inversion (FWI) imaging to mitigate structural uncertainty in the Santos Basin, a complex offshore hydrocarbon province in Brazil. The study outlines the challenges posed by the thick overburden salt and the need for high-resolution seismic imaging to accurately characterize pre-salt reservoirs. It describes the integration of OBN data with an FWI imaging workflow, which significantly enhances the quality of subsurface images. The report details the methodology employed, including the use of a Dynamic Matching FWI algorithm for rapid imaging and the advantages of OBN data in providing rich low-frequency content. The findings indicate a marked improvement in imaging resolution and clarity, facilitating better geological interpretations. Additionally, the report emphasizes the efficiency of the fast turnaround workflow in delivering timely insights for exploration and production activities in deepwater settings.
