This case study details the collaboration between a leading financial services company, Thales, and Quantinuum to develop a quantum-safe cryptography solution. The objective was to establish post-quantum cryptography (PQC) measures to protect data, systems, and applications against potential threats posed by quantum computing. The financial services company aimed to integrate PQC-ready security measures into their existing IT environment with minimal disruption. The solution involved the use of Quantinuum's Quantum Origin for secure key generation, which utilizes quantum-computing-strengthened entropy, and Thales Luna Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) for key management and protection. The integration of these technologies allows for the generation of quantum-resilient cryptographic keys that are securely stored and deployed across the organization. This approach not only enhances security but also prepares the company for future quantum threats, ensuring crypto agility and resilience in their operations.
