This document is a research highlight paper that presents a leadership effectiveness dashboard focusing on critical competencies, strengths, and gaps among leaders in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region. It outlines the unique challenges faced by APAC organizations and emphasizes the need for developing leaders equipped with essential skills for future success. The dashboard summarizes data collected over five years, highlighting the effectiveness of 1,818 leaders across six Asian countries: Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Mainland China, India, and Japan. The findings indicate that leaders in APAC are generally rated less effective in competencies related to leading people, such as delegation and change management, while they perform better in meeting job requirements. The paper provides a comparative analysis of leadership effectiveness within the region and against a global sample, aiming to serve as a reference point for organizations assessing their leadership development efforts.
