This technical report examines collaborative project delivery methods, which are a specific class of delivery methods aimed at fostering collaboration among organizations to achieve project goals. The study highlights the growing adoption of these methods in Norway's construction sector. It identifies a gap in the literature regarding the challenges associated with collaborative project delivery, prompting the authors to investigate two main research questions: the challenges linked to these methods and recommendations for enhancing future practices. The methodology employed is a meta-study of previous case studies from various clients, encompassing 105 collaboration-oriented projects. The analysis reveals 11 categories of challenges, including issues related to entry into collaboration, contract-related problems, and project team dynamics. The report emphasizes that while collaborative methods can be beneficial for complex projects, their implementation often falls short due to various challenges. The findings serve as a warning signal for project participants, highlighting the need for careful consideration in the application of collaborative strategies.
