This technical report discusses the importance of unified communication among healthcare professionals in acute care settings, particularly focusing on the consultation process between emergency department (ED) clinicians and specialty physicians. The report outlines the challenges faced by Capital Health prior to implementing the TigerConnect Clinical Collaboration Platform, where consultation requests took an average of 50 minutes due to inefficient workflows. After adopting the platform, the consult process was streamlined to three steps, reducing the time to 3 to 10 minutes, which significantly improved patient throughput and reduced staff burnout. The report also details features such as role- and team-based communication capabilities that eliminate the need for ED teams to know who is on call, enhancing collaboration and reducing frustration. Additionally, it highlights the Patient Context Messaging feature that integrates with EHR systems to provide essential patient information, minimizing errors. Finally, the report discusses how TigerConnect Physician Scheduling optimizes administrative processes, improving overall efficiency.
