This case study examines the collaboration between Universal Health Services (UHS) Southwest Healthcare System and TigerConnect, focusing on the implementation of a secure communication platform to enhance operational efficiency. UHS, a major provider of healthcare services, faced significant challenges due to inefficient communication among staff, which resulted in workflow issues and missed opportunities for patient care. To address these challenges, UHS adopted TigerConnect to facilitate secure, HIPAA-compliant communication among healthcare providers. The integration of TigerConnect with existing systems, such as Cerner, aimed to streamline workflows, improve patient admissions, and enhance overall care quality. Following the implementation, UHS reported notable improvements in communication efficiency, with nearly 100% turnaround time for alerts and the adoption of over 300 roles to facilitate interactions among staff. The results indicate that the integration not only improved patient care but also fostered better collaboration among the care team, ultimately leading to a reduction in the length of patient stays.
