This case study details the collaboration between TIME Systems and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in developing the NextGen Implementation Plan. The FAA was mandated by Congress to provide an annual update on the NextGen program, which required effective coordination among diverse teams dispersed across multiple locations. TIME Systems was tasked with designing, developing, and distributing the plan, leveraging technology to enhance efficiencies in program execution. A customized Microsoft SharePoint workspace was created to facilitate collaboration and streamline workflows, significantly reducing email traffic and version control issues. The study outlines the challenges faced, including the need for transparent information workflows and the consolidation of multiple projects into a single document. The implementation resulted in the distribution of over 30,000 hard copies of the plan and inspired other FAA offices to adopt similar SharePoint solutions. The case study serves as an example of innovative strategies for improving collaboration and efficiency in complex projects.
