Wise Hospice Options AI Integration Case Study

This case study documents the integration of DrFirst's e-prescribing solution by Wise Hospice Options to enhance medication management in hospice care. The objective is to address challenges associated with interoperability and data accuracy in electronic health records (EHR). The study outlines how the solution utilizes clinical-grade AI technology to decipher and standardize medication data, significantly reducing the time clinicians spend on manual data entry and improving patient safety. Prior to AI implementation, prescribers faced delays and errors due to inconsistent data formats and free-text entries. Post-integration, the AI has improved the accuracy of drug codification and reduced the time spent on medication reconciliation tasks from an average of 15 seconds to just 2 to 3 seconds per drug. The results indicate that the AI exceeds initial performance expectations, achieving over 99% codification of drugs and enhancing the overall efficiency of hospice operations.
