Parking Management System Implementation at UT Dallas

This case study outlines the implementation of a data-driven parking management system at the University of Texas at Dallas, which involved the addition of three new parking garages providing over 2,700 spaces. The objective was to enhance the parking experience for students, faculty, staff, and guests by utilizing technology to streamline parking processes. The Park Assist M4 system was selected for its smart-sensor LEDs that align with the university's color-coded parking system, guiding users to available spaces efficiently. The system also incorporates license plate recognition technology to ensure compliance with parking regulations. By analyzing data on usage trends, the university can optimize parking assignments and improve overall management. The implementation has led to reduced time-to-park, increased permit usage, and a positive impact on sustainability by lowering carbon emissions.
