This white paper presents the findings of a benchmarking study conducted by Park Assist in collaboration with Brisbane Airport Corporation, focusing on the quantitative impacts of the M4 Parking Guidance Solution (PGS) on customer experience. The study aimed to objectively measure the time taken for vehicles to park in vacant bays, referred to as 'Time to Park'. Conducted over five months, the study gathered nearly 1.2 million data points from 127,284 unique customer journeys. The results indicated a 36% reduction in Time to Park in the primary car park (P1) and a 33% reduction across both monitored car parks. The study utilized a structured A/B experiment design to compare parking behavior with and without PGS elements, ensuring the integrity of the results. Key findings also highlighted improved consistency in parking behavior and significant time savings for specific user segments, such as drivers in disabled bays, who experienced up to a 63% reduction in Time to Park. Overall, the study underscores the effectiveness of the PGS in enhancing the parking experience.
