This case study details the migration project undertaken by Nomura Securities to modernize its Bond Contract Processing System using TmaxSof OpenFrame. Established in 1925, Nomura Securities is the largest securities firm in Japan and has been a significant player in the financial services industry. The company faced challenges with aging legacy mainframe hardware, high maintenance costs, and the need for greater flexibility in its IT architecture. To address these issues, Nomura Securities opted for the OpenFrame solution, which allowed for the migration of applications without the need for redevelopment. Following a successful trial migration, the implementation team conducted unit and integration testing, resulting in the Bond Contract Management System operating on the new platform ahead of schedule. The migration led to a reduction in total cost of ownership by one-third, improved employee and user experiences, and enhanced agility in responding to business changes.
