This case study details the evaluation conducted by West Highland, a TNS Company, on an electronic trading platform's market data plant design and its associated components. The assessment included a best practices review that focused on content expenditure, market data types such as real-time, historical, and reference data, as well as considerations for data quality, performance, latency, resilience, and monitoring tools. The outcome of this project involved the creation of a Request for Information/Request for Proposal (RFI/RFP) process, along with vendor selection recommendations. The project spanned 15 months and resulted in significant cost savings, including a reduction in annual spending by $55 million year-on-year and an approximate project save of $25 million year-on-year. The case study outlines the strategic vendor utilization and the mass reduction in the operational footprint achieved through this initiative.
