Impact of Global Conflicts on Singaporean Travel Sentiment

This report presents findings from a U&A study conducted by Toluna among 200 Singaporeans, focusing on how ongoing global conflicts are reshaping travel sentiment, behaviors, and broader lifestyle decisions. The study reveals that a significant portion of Singaporeans, 56%, express high levels of concern regarding current global conflicts, which directly affects their travel intentions. Notably, 76% of respondents anticipate that their travel plans will be influenced in the next three to six months, with 69% already shifting their interest away from certain destinations. The findings indicate a movement towards safer and more predictable travel options, as travelers prioritize destinations perceived as safer and avoid specific airlines or routes. Additionally, the report highlights a broader lifestyle impact, with consumers tightening their budgets and adjusting spending habits due to rising costs and economic pressures. The study emphasizes the need for travel and hospitality sectors to communicate safety effectively and adapt to changing consumer preferences.
