This document is a case study detailing the collaboration between Dermatogenix Inc. and Transition Technologies PSC (TT PSC) in the development of the EczemaQ mobile health application. The primary objective of the project was to create a validated, guideline-based digital tool to support adults suffering from atopic dermatitis (AD). The EczemaQ app aims to empower users through shared decision-making and self-management of their condition. The case study outlines the challenges faced in the dermatology field, including a shortage of specialists and the prevalence of unvalidated digital resources. It describes the innovative solutions implemented by TT PSC, including the use of AWS serverless architecture and collaborative tools like GitHub and Figma, which facilitated rapid development and deployment. The results achieved through this partnership include improved operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and enhanced patient feedback mechanisms, ultimately leading to a more effective tool for managing AD. The collaboration has significantly reduced the time to market and improved the overall development process.
