Material Handling Equipment System Assessment Guide

The objective is to obtain a thorough understanding of operational risks and create a roadmap to maintain performance levels while maximizing return on investment from MHE assets. The guide details the importance of recognizing when MHE assets are underperforming or at risk of failure, especially in continuous operations or during peak seasons. It describes the assessment process, which includes a pre-assessment discussion to review current and future objectives, followed by an expert evaluation of critical MHE components. The evaluation covers various aspects such as roller condition, sensor condition, hardware and drive components, obsolescence, spare parts inventory management, and safety concerns. The findings are communicated through a verbal report on-site and a formal report that includes risk levels and recommendations for maintenance and modifications.
