This case study focuses on a critical access hospital that implemented TRIMEDX’s Predictive Work System (PWS) to enhance device performance monitoring and predict potential failures. The hospital faced challenges with occasional tube spits in the radiography and fluoroscopy room, which could lead to costly device failures and unplanned downtime. The PWS event detector identified the tube spit issue, enabling the clinical engineering team to generate a work order for assessment and repair. By addressing the problem outside of patient-use hours, the hospital was able to prevent disruptions to patient care. The case study illustrates how proactive monitoring and predictive maintenance can significantly reduce equipment downtime and avoid unnecessary repairs, thereby ensuring continuous device uptime in a busy emergency room setting. The hospital is part of a regional health system that includes multiple facilities and clinical assets, highlighting the broader implications of effective equipment management in healthcare.
