This case study details the collaboration between TruBridge and FTI Consulting in the recovery of accounts receivable for Promise Healthcare Group LLC, which filed for bankruptcy in November 2018. The restructuring process involved divesting 18 locations and eliminating the billing staff, leading to challenges in collecting aged accounts receivable. TruBridge was recommended for its reputation in revenue cycle engagements and was approved as a vendor partner by the bankruptcy court. The operational situation was complicated, with patient account information scattered across multiple legacy systems. TruBridge successfully consolidated this data into a single system, facilitating an aggressive collection goal of $25 million. The implementation of a proprietary Accounts Receivable Recovery Service, utilizing HFMA Peer Reviewed® RCM software technology, resulted in the collection of $27 million, exceeding the initial goal by 110%. The case study highlights the effectiveness of technology and experienced personnel in achieving significant financial recoveries.
