Global CISO Survey on Application Security Impact

The survey indicates a shift in perception where security is increasingly viewed as an enabler of business growth rather than merely a cost center. It outlines how CISOs are frequently involved in sales engagements to assure clients about the security of their products. Key findings reveal that 84% of CISOs are often pulled into sales discussions, and 96% report that buyers prioritize security in their purchasing decisions. The report also highlights that 77% of CISOs believe at least half of their company's business relies on applications they secure, reflecting a significant trend in digital transformation. Additionally, it notes that application security is gaining higher priority from CEOs and boards, with 51% of respondents reporting increased focus and 73% seeing a rise in funding for AppSec initiatives compared to the previous year.
