This case study outlines the implementation of digital signage and wayfinding solutions at St James Quarter, a £1 billion retail and lifestyle district in Edinburgh, Scotland. The project aimed to enhance visitor navigation and support sustainability targets through the use of digital signage kiosks and screens. The installation includes almost 180 screens strategically placed in high foot traffic areas and storefronts, providing engaging content to patrons and retailers. The ONELAN digital signage system allows for easy updates from a central content management system (CMS), minimizing the need for physical print materials. The combination of retail-optimized Net-Top-Box players and LG professional System-on-Chip screens facilitates dynamic content display, contributing to increased footfall and dwell times in stores. The case study also highlights the flexibility of the solution, which allows individual retailers to manage their own promotional content while providing valuable insights into advertising performance through proof of play reporting.
