This document is a case study detailing the collaboration between UNOSAT and OCHA in response to the Myanmar-Thailand earthquakes that occurred in March 2025. The earthquakes, measuring 7.7 and 6.7 in magnitude, resulted in significant destruction and left millions in need of assistance. UNOSAT's Emergency Mapping Service was activated to provide essential satellite imagery analysis, which served as a reliable source of information regarding the impact of the earthquakes. The analysis included comprehensive assessments of damaged infrastructure, identifying over 28,000 buildings with visible damage. The document outlines how UNOSAT's geospatial capabilities aided OCHA in prioritizing assessment locations and optimizing resource allocation during the humanitarian response. It also highlights the integration of UNOSAT's damage assessments into OCHA's Multi-Sector Initial Rapid Assessment framework, enhancing coordination and information sharing among humanitarian actors. The partnership demonstrated the critical role of satellite imagery in improving humanitarian operations in complex environments.
