This research article investigates the impact of quality culture on agile transformation within a business-to-business software organization. The study addresses two primary questions: how an already agile organization can enhance its performance and the role of quality promotion in this process. Through action research involving three rounds of interventions, the authors implemented strategies based on existing literature and data from semi-structured interviews. The findings indicate that merely adopting agile methodologies does not guarantee performance improvements; a concurrent focus on fostering a quality-oriented culture is essential. The research highlights the challenges faced by multi-team organizations in achieving the anticipated benefits of agile practices, particularly in the context of complex business models. The article contributes to the understanding of managerial practices in software businesses and agile transformation by providing empirical evidence that emphasizes the necessity of integrating formal quality improvement measures into agile frameworks to enhance organizational effectiveness.
