This article presents a technical report on the development and validation of a multi-plant Simulation-Based Digital Twin (DT) production planning platform aimed at enhancing internal supply chain management in the manufacturing sector. The primary objective is to design a platform that allows for real-time digital replicas of physical processes, facilitating improved monitoring and decision-making. The study emphasizes the importance of integrating Industry 4.0 technologies, particularly DTs, into Internal Supply Chain (ISC) management to optimize production planning and resource allocation. A modular architecture is proposed, focusing on a Simulation-Based DT module that supports various scheduling rules and ISC configurations. The platform's effectiveness is demonstrated through a case study in the Oil & Gas sector, which highlights its ability to reduce average flow time and tardiness while improving order fulfillment. The report discusses the challenges of implementing DTs, such as costs and data integration, and underscores the need for user-friendly platforms that can adapt to evolving market demands.
