This report presents the findings of Uptime Institute's 2024 Data Center Staffing and Recruitment Survey, which was conducted between July 29, 2024, and September 2, 2024, with a total of 857 respondents from the data center industry. The survey indicates a continuing increase in new hires within data centers, with 57% of respondents reporting an increase in salary-related spending. Notably, operations management and junior/mid-level staff roles are experiencing the most significant increases in salary expenditures. However, there is a year-over-year decline in initiatives aimed at hiring new entrants to the job market and in mentoring programs for data center employees. The report also highlights the job roles with the highest turnover rates and the increased reliance on temporary and contract workers in certain positions. The data is derived from a sample of 461 data center owner/operator respondents, providing insights into current staffing trends in the industry.
