Uptime Institute Data Center Spending Survey 2025

This report presents the findings from the Uptime Institute's Data Center Spending Survey conducted between October 9, 2024, and November 14, 2024, involving 878 respondents from the data center industry, including 453 data center owner/operators. The survey indicates that two-thirds of enterprise owner/operators anticipate an increase in their data center budgets for 2025, with 77% of colocation providers sharing this expectation. Key areas of increased spending for enterprises include power (72%) and IT equipment (67%), while colocation providers expect to spend more on power (79%) and cooling equipment (73%). The report also notes a decline in the percentage of respondents reporting capital project delays, now at 43%, with manufacturing and equipment delays cited as the primary reason for these delays. The findings provide insights into the anticipated trends in data center spending and operational challenges for the upcoming year.
