This report presents the findings of the Uptime Institute's latest sustainability survey conducted between December 3, 2024, and January 21, 2025, involving 974 data center industry respondents. The survey reveals that a significant majority of owner/operators, 79%, collect data on IT or data center power consumption, while 72% track Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) for environmental sustainability. Additionally, 42% of respondents have set a renewable energy goal, and 26% have established a carbon-free energy consumption goal. The report also indicates that 64% of organizations monitor the quantity of renewable and carbon-free energy consumed by their IT workloads. Regarding greenhouse gas emissions, 47% report having a GHG net zero emissions goal, with half of this group expecting to achieve it by 2030. The report includes detailed metrics on energy consumption, emissions tracking, and organizational goals related to sustainability.
