This case study documents the approach taken by Alex Lee to manage and reduce healthcare costs through a model of shared accountability. The primary objective was to incentivize employees to select high-value care options, thereby creating a financial benefit for both the employees and the employer. In partnership with Vālenz Health®, Alex Lee implemented the Valenz Bluebook member engagement solution, which utilized three key strategies focused on cost and quality navigation. These strategies led to a significant increase in savings, reported at 146%, and improved employee awareness regarding how to effectively shop for healthcare services. The case study outlines specific metrics such as the total savings of $650,000 in medical and pharmacy costs, an average of 16% monthly employee users, and considerable savings per member. Additionally, the Valenz Bluebook demonstrated a guaranteed return on investment of 4:1, showcasing the effectiveness of the program in achieving its goals.
