This case study details the implementation of a revenue-sharing program at Lourdes Medical Group, which began using the Vatica solution in October 2022. Led by Medical Group President Jagraj Rai, MD, the initiative aimed to enhance provider engagement by sharing half of the health plan program revenue with treating providers. The development and implementation of the tracking and payment process involved collaboration among Lourdes' legal, finance, and operations teams over several months. The first payment was made in December 2023, significantly impacting participation rates. The case study highlights that sharing health plan program revenue has led to improved provider engagement, enabling Lourdes Medical Group to hire essential resources, such as a social worker, to assist patients with social determinants of health. Dr. Rai emphasizes the importance of compensating physicians for their efforts in reviewing and signing the Vatica record, noting plans to utilize future revenue for expanding pharmacy and nursing staff.
