Application Security Integration for California Government

This case study outlines how Veracode assisted the California Department of Technology (CDT) in improving its application security (AppSec) processes across the software development lifecycle (SDLC). The CDT, responsible for managing critical software for the State of California, faced challenges in unifying security practices among its scrum teams while ensuring compliance with stringent state regulations. Veracode provided a unified end-to-end application security solution that enabled CDT to deploy software more predictably and efficiently. As a result, CDT achieved compliance with state regulations, reduced its time to market for software deployments, and increased the volume of application scans, remediating 460 flaws. The implementation of Veracode's solutions also contributed to improved employee morale and reduced turnover, positioning CDT to standardize its AppSec approach across 500 state agencies.
