This case study outlines the implementation of Veradigm EHR and DocBuddy at Orthopedic Centers of Colorado (OCC) to enhance documentation efficiency and patient care. OCC, formed in 2018 from the merger of eight orthopedic practices, faced challenges with their previous transcription services, which resulted in errors and delays in documentation. The adoption of Veradigm EHR in October 2020 aimed to streamline operations and improve provider productivity. The integration with DocBuddy allowed providers to dictate notes and access patient data seamlessly, significantly reducing the time spent on documentation. Dr. Ian Weber, a surgeon at OCC, reported that DocBuddy improved his workflow, enabling him to document six patients in a minute and a half. The new system not only saved time but also allowed providers to see more patients daily, ultimately enhancing the overall patient experience. The case study highlights the successful transition to a more efficient documentation process that benefits both providers and patients.
