This case study documents the implementation of Verato's healthcare master data management platform, Verato hMDM™, by a large US health system that had been utilizing a legacy EMPI solution for nearly a decade. The objective of the implementation was to address significant identity accuracy issues that had resulted in a growing number of suspect matches and duplicates, jeopardizing the health system's digital engagement program. The legacy EMPI had struggled to provide a single consolidated view of patient records, leading to potential risks such as patients not seeing their complete medical history or receiving incorrect data due to false positives. Following the deployment of Verato hMDM™, the health system achieved automatic resolution of over 50% of suspect match tasks and identified numerous missed matches and false positives. The results indicated a substantial improvement in data accuracy and patient safety, highlighting the effectiveness of Verato's solution in enhancing identity management within healthcare.
