This research report, commissioned by the Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth, outlines a comprehensive roadmap for businesses in Singapore to achieve sustainable, inclusive, and equitable growth through Corporate Social Sustainability (CSS). The study employs a multi-phased, interdisciplinary approach that includes desk scans, social listening, quantitative surveys, and in-depth interviews with key stakeholders. The ABCDE framework—Aware, Balanced, Convinced, Decide, Execute—is utilized to foster stakeholder trust and facilitate the adoption of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices. Key findings indicate a high level of awareness and support for ESG among both managers and the general population, emphasizing the need for a balanced approach to meet diverse stakeholder expectations. The report details the importance of mental health in social sustainability and the critical role of government in providing support. It also highlights best practices for the successful implementation of corporate sustainability initiatives, positioning Singapore as a leader in this domain.
