Enhancing Workers' Compensation Data Management with wcAnalyzer

This technical report discusses the implementation of wcAnalyzer, a tool designed to improve data management and compliance in workers' compensation insurance. The report outlines the challenges faced by insurers, particularly Liberty Mutual, in managing electronic data interchange (EDI) submissions and ensuring compliance with varying state requirements. It details how Liberty Mutual utilized wcAnalyzer to streamline its EDI processes, resulting in improved compliance acceptance rates and more efficient data handling. The report also highlights the Virginia Workers’ Compensation Commission's adoption of wcAnalyzer to enhance its EDI Quality Assurance Department's capabilities. By leveraging this tool, the Commission was able to proactively identify issues with trading partners, improve reporting accuracy, and develop a quarterly EDI Report Card to monitor performance. The findings emphasize the importance of actionable data and analytics in enhancing operational efficiency and compliance in the workers' compensation sector.
