This case study details the collaboration between Shepherd Center and Olah to reduce IT expenditures while enhancing the user experience for physicians. Shepherd Center, a private hospital specializing in rehabilitation for various conditions, faced significant costs associated with maintaining legacy healthcare information management systems. The hospital was spending over $1.1 million on software licenses alone, which did not include upgrade costs. To address these challenges, Shepherd Center implemented Olah's native cloud archiving platform. This solution enabled the hospital to archive nine legacy systems, providing seamless access to archived patient and financial information. The integration with EPIC allowed for improved access for physicians, ultimately enhancing patient care. The successful implementation of this cloud-based platform not only reduced IT spending and risk but also facilitated the reinvestment of savings back into the hospital's operations, demonstrating a commitment to improving patient care through technology.
