Healthcare Network Infrastructure Research Overview

This document is a research overview conducted by HIMSS Market Insights in March and April 2025, focusing on network infrastructure in healthcare organizations. The objective of the research is to gather insights from healthcare leaders regarding their perspectives on network reliability, performance challenges, and the implications of outdated networks on patient care. The study involved 50 qualified respondents, including executives and IT leaders, who provided data through an online survey. Key topics explored include the impact of network reliability on patient care, the financial risks associated with outdated networks, and the interest in Neutral Host Networks as a potential solution. The findings indicate that cybersecurity threats and data breaches are significant concerns, particularly in complex multi-vendor environments. Additionally, the research highlights the challenges organizations face in adapting their network infrastructure to meet the increasing demands of emerging technologies such as IoT and AI.
